IN SYMPATHY
Our sympathy is extended to Ted and Kathy Clubb and family upon the death of their son Randy.
THANK YOU
Thank
you to those who came out to help take down the Christmas decorations
and stayed to enjoy the New Year’s Eve get-together.
I have so much to be thankful for! Mom is doing OK and so is the
rest of the family. Christina’s baby is a little doll. I am truly
blessed to have such a great church family. I want to thank my friend
for the gift that was left in the nursery and my church for the gift at
Christmas and for helping me with some of my bills. May God bless you
and keep you. Annette Beal

good way to get acquainted with the men of FCC. See you Saturday,

There will be an Elder’s meeting Sunday, January 10 at 8:00 a.m. in the Seeker’s Sunday School classroom.
SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS
It
is VERY IMPORTANT that you fill out your attendance EVERY Sunday! The
year end report reflects the number we had attending Sunday School this
past year. If you do not fill out your attendance sheet then we do not
have an accurate account of our attendance for the year.
PROJECT MAYHEM
The
next Project Mayhem event is January 15th from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the
church. This is an unstructured fellowship event open to our community
youth. There will be games, snacks and fun. Hope to see you there!

FROM THE PASTOR
Fellow Trail Blazers….
We have started our ascent to the summit. This past Lord’s Day we
started our series “Basic Gear for Life’s Journey” based on a couple of
mountain climbing experiences I encountered over the past few years and
drawn some spiritual applications. The first week we looked at the
nourishment a person needs to endure this spiritual journey, namely the
precious Word of God. Coming this week we will look at those making the
climb with us. Our lives are designed to best be lived out in authentic
community. In other words as we go through life and grow in the Lord,
we are to do life together, serving others. I’ll be sharing what it
means to live in “authentic” community much like we see so vividly in
Acts chapter two. Without a doubt seeing the church function in
community and unity is one of the greatest experiences we can know on
this earth. As we move forward together, I look with great expectation
as to how this will be lived out in the Haysville community.
I dream of a network of small home groups scattered all over our
community where people are serving and “doing life” together. One of
the most attractive things I can think of (and the thing that drew me
back to church so many years ago) is seeing the church grow smaller
through small groups. By growing smaller I mean when our church grew
smaller through a network of small groups, our worship gatherings
exploded with growth.
I’ll share more later, please make a double effort to be in the
worship gatherings this month to experience the excitement that is
building at First Christian Church!
In His Hands,
Jay
