"DO THIS"
Christ was talking to his disciples, at
his last supper with them, when he said, "Do this in remembrance of me."
These same words echo down to us through the ages, to the Disciples of
Christ in the year 2008. Each Sunday we remember His shed blood and broken
body as we partake of Communion. Each year before we celebrate Easter and
His glorious resurrection from the dead we remember this scene in his life
also. We partake of communion in a very special service we call Maundy
Thursday. We are reminded that it was on this night that Christ, alone,
was arrested and taken before Pilate where He was sentenced to an agonizing
death on that cruel cross.
Come remember with us on Maundy Thursday -Thursday, March 20th at 7:00
P.M.

IN MEMORY
We received a letter last week which
contained the memorial service for a dear friend of our church that had
passed away back on 12-27-07. This dear friend and patron of our church is
Mrs. Wheat who consented to sell us 15 acres of her land so that our church
could relocate to 7465 South Meridian. Perhaps not many members know the
story of how we came to know Mrs. Wheat, but her family is instrumental in
the history of our church. I hope we can find a way to tell her story and
the way her family, the Vreelands, are so important to us.

CHOIR PRACTICE
Attention Choir Members and Potential
Choir Members!!!
We're going to try a new time for practice. Starting Sunday, March 2,
(that's this coming Sunday) choir practice will be held following worship
service. We will hold a "get down to business" rehearsal and will try to
wind it up in approximately 30 minutes. Our Easter anthem "Up From the
Grave" is a spirited, rhythmical musical arrangement with the wonderful
words that describe the message of Easter. If you are interested, please
put this time aside so we can work together for a presentation on Easter
Sunday, March 24. If more information is needed, call me. 524-3910 Donna

CHURCH GROWTH
UFO-Craft Night
This Friday night, February 29th is our monthly UnFinished Objects
night. Bring your UFO to church at 7:00 and enjoy an evening of laughter,
fellowship, snacking and working on your latest project. Several of the
ladies will be putting together the turbans for Victory in the Valley. If
you would like to help, bring a pair of scissors and you can cut the
patterns and those with sewing machines will finish them. It should be
fun!!!
Family Night
Family Night will be on Saturday, March 8th at 6:00. We are going to
have a Potato Bar for our meal instead of the usual soup and sandwiches.
We will buy the potatoes and the families coming will bring the toppings
and anything else they would like for the meal. If you were not at church
last Sunday, please remember to sign up on the paper at the back of the
sanctuary.
