The Upper Room

On Jesus' last night he chose to be with his disciples in an upper room where he could be alone with the twelve. In that secluded spot Jesus took bread, broke it and said, "This is my body broken for you;" he took the wine and said, "This is my blood shed for you; do this in remembrance of me."

On Maundy Thursday we too will remember Christ and his sacrifice for all mankind. We break bread and drink the wine in remembrance of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This special communion service will be on Thursday, March 20th at 7:00 p.m.

CHURCH GROWTH

This coming Saturday, March 8th is Family Night. We are going to have a Potato Bar for our meal instead of the usual soup and sandwiches. We will buy the potatoes and the families coming will bring the toppings.

If you were not at church last Sunday and you are coming this Saturday, please call Lenora at 524-4053 and let her know so more potatoes can be bought.

Cookies for a Cause
The Cookies for a Cause for March is food for the pantry at the Haysville Community Outreach which is housed at the West Haysville Baptist Church. This outreach program is for all families who live in the Haysville School District. They are open from 9 to 12 on Monday thru Friday. They are busy every day helping families that need help with food.

The foods needed are peanut butter, canned fruit and hot and cold cereal and any other food that you feel you would like to give. These items will be collected all month and may be placed in the basket in the front hall. Thanks for all your help.

Easter Fun Day
Saturday 22nd 10:00 - 12:00
We have a fun day planned for the children of the church and their friends and neighbors. We will have crafts, egg hunt and lunch. Please sign the clipboard at the back of the sanctuary so we will know how many to expect. If you have middle or high school youth who want to come, they can hide the eggs for us and help their siblings in the craft room. Remember, we need a total count for lunch. We also need 4 dozen plain white cupcakes for the children to decorate.

If you are able to donate individually wrapped candy or pennies, nickels, or dimes to put in the eggs for the egg hunt, please give them to Lenora or bring them to the church office before Monday the 17th so the ladies can put them together for Saturday the 22nd.
We also need 1 gallon milk jugs for a craft activity.
