FROM THE PASTOR
Dear Church,
First I want to say thank you and give God all the credit for the
message Sunday. I am passionate about the subject of truly being a
“missional” Body of Christ! Your gratitude is overwhelming. I know you
know, that God is the One who speaks and inspires, but I want to
acknowledge that fact anyway.
The true test of any sermon however is what people do with the
words they hear on Sunday. I can remember early in my walk with Jesus
that I would hang on every word the pastor spoke and try my best to
live out what I heard him speak. I trusted my pastor to speak life into
me each Sunday and to this day Pastor David Cone remains one of my most
treasured inspirations. Being missional or being Jesus to the people we
find ourselves crossing paths each day must be the driving force in our
lives.
In order to be Jesus to others, we must ask, “What is God doing in
my neighborhood, workplace, or school?” Then ask a second question, “In
light of my gifts and resources, how does God want me to participate
with Him?” Sounds simple enough, but the real test will be today, after
you read this, when God does bring someone into your life that needs
something you have either inside or may even possess as a resource for
them, what will be your response?
Dartha sent me a little inspirational story in an email this
morning. I’m sending it to Jeanette so she can post it on our church
Facebook page. If you have time click on our page and see the little
clip (only takes about 3 or 4 minutes), to get an idea of one young
man’s quest to really make a difference in others’ lives after hearing
a speaker’s message and challenge.
I pray you have a blessed week and may God bring a person into each
of your lives this day to love, encourage and bring the blessed hope of
Jesus Christ! I look forward to your stories!
Pastor Jay

CHURCH GROWTH
Family Night
Family Night will be Saturday, March 13 at 6:00 p.m. We are going
to have soup and a potato bar for our meal. We will buy the potatoes
and the families coming will bring the toppings and soup and anything
else they would like for the meal. If you would like to come but didn’t
get signed up, call Lenora at 524-4053 so we will have enough potatoes
for everybody.
Cookies for a Cause
The cause for March is Victory in the Valley. It is a non-profit
cancer support organization. Its purpose is providing A Place of Hope
along the cancer journey. Their mission states that they will seek to
walk beside cancer patients and their families . . . with the goal of
providing emotional and spiritual support, physical assistance and HOPE
for their journey through cancer.
We can help by bringing individually wrapped snack items (sugar and
sugar free) for the Hospitality Centre across from St. Francis Hospital
and/or monetary offerings when we celebrate with cookies, lemonade and
coffee. We will also be making cotton turbans for women who have lost
their hair during chemo therapy. You may continue to bring snack items
through the rest of the month and we will take the snacks to the
Centre. Thanks in advance for all your help.

MEN’S BREAKFAST
Ten
men enjoyed their monthly breakfast Saturday morning. Chef Phil
prepared a very tasty corned beef hash breakfast with eggs, biscuits
and fruit. Those that did not attend missed a great breakfast. Maybe we
can talk Phil into preparing this again.
