WORSHIP

Maundy Thursday
Be still my soul
And know that love is near.
When Christ sat at the table
With His friends
He broke the bread and gave His body,
He poured the wine and gave His blood. Oh, soul can't you see
It was all done for thee.
Please join us Thursday, March 20th at 7:00 p.m. for a special Maundy Thursday communion.

Good Friday Service

Each year the Haysville Ministerial Association plans a Good Friday worship opportunity to which the community is invited. This Friday, March 21, the service will be at St. Mark's Presbyterian Church, 1200 West Grand. The message will be the "Seven Words from the Cross".
An offering will be received to be administered by the HMA to assist persons in need.

PROPERTY

The property committee is planning a workday for Saturday, April 5, after the men's breakfast, to work on the lawn and sprinkler system. You are invited to stay and help them.

Sign-Up to Help
It's that time again! Time to think about mowing the grass and keeping the weeds pulled. There is a sign-up sheet for MOWING and one for ADOPTING PROPERTY in the entryway. Please consider helping with some of the outside work. It takes all of us to keep the church property looking nice.

Parking Lot

Good News!
You may have noticed the cracks in the parking lot. Well, so had our property committee. In fact, the property committee, led by Jim Holmes, has been anxious to get the final two inches of asphalt that was needed on the parking lot put on there before we had bigger problems.

Jim got three bids for the project, and the Board has approved the bid from Holland Paving, which was approximately $31,000. Jim will work with Holland and you who use the facility when the schedule is known.

We have the money to pay for it! Praise God! The Trustees released over $5,000 of the Non-designated Funds, and the Board has earmarked other funds to be used for the payment of this parking lot project. We won't have to borrow at all to pay for this or have a fund-raising campaign.

Thank you for your faithfulness in giving and for the stewardship of the Board and committees that made this possible.

Now, when you are inconvenienced during this project, no grumbling please, just remember how blessed we are to be able to afford to take care of the parking lot!

Johnna Hall

BLOSSOMING OF THE CROSS
Easter Sunday at the 10:40 a.m. worship service we will again participate in the blossoming of the cross. There is a hymn titled, "The Old Rugged Cross". So it was when Jesus was crucified on it on a hill called Calvary outside of Jerusalem. Christ died for our sins, the righteous for the unrighteous. But, thank God, Jesus was raised from the dead! By placing flowers on the cross we celebrate the victory of Christ's resurrection. The pain of crucifixion, the bleakness of the tomb and the darkness of death are put in perspective because, praise God, our Savior lives!

Easter is early this year and there may not be many flowers blooming in our flower beds, but if you have some, you are encouraged to bring them Sunday morning to be placed on the cross. These, along with some purchased from the local flower shop, will be part of our celebrating Christ's resurrection during worship.

THANK YOU

Dear members of the Board,
I just want to take this opportunity to thank you for giving me the experience of a lifetime! The National Youth Ministry Conference which I recently attended was truly phenomenal. I greatly appreciate your support-financially and otherwise in making this possible. I learned so much, met so many wonderful people and got spiritually fed and nurtured in so many ways.
Thank you for sending me to this event. It was a wonderful experience!

Sincerely, Diana Thomi, RN, BS, Executive Director

A big "Thank You" to everyone for all the prayers, calls, and cards at the time of Jim's surgery. A special "Thank You" to George for being at the hospital with us. We are so blessed to have such a loving and caring church family.
