NOTE FROM PASTOR
MILT
|
NOTE FROM PASTOR MILT
The weather we are having reminds me of a parody I heard some years
ago that went like this: “The April Showers, that bring May flowers that
bloom in June.”
It was May 3, 1999 that a tornado came through Haysville that
changed the landscape forever. Most of you have vivid memories of that
event, especially where it destroyed this church. I remember hearing at
that time about a church in Kansas that had been destroyed by that tornado.
Little did I realize that 10 years later I would be serving that church as
its pastor.
Since there will be a community remembrance program in Old Town
Haysville that afternoon, our morning service will reflect on God’s
steadfast love for us during this crisis. It is a time to remember what
happened that day, and how God continues to bless us even today. It would
be a great time to share your pictures of that day, and even pictures of
the old church.
May also has other special days like Mother’s Day and Pentecost.
Another special day for me is May 24th. On that day my oldest daughter
Sharron will be united in marriage. It is special for me as I will be
officiating for this service. As I will be away from church that morning,
the Youth will be leading the morning worship service.
Come and see what God is doing.
Blessings be with you all.
Milton Bryarly, Interim Minister

PROPERTY
|
The mowing schedule is almost complete! However,
we still need a lot of people to sign up to “adopt” church property.
Jim can’t keep up with everything inside and outside the church by
himself, so we need YOUR help. Adopting property means keeping the weeds
pulled out of a small area. Take a look at the chart in the entryway and
adopt an area of your church grounds to keep the weeds pulled so the church
grounds will look well groomed.
Thanks, Property Committee

KANSAS CHRISTIAN
HOME
|
The Kansas Christian Home Auxiliary is having its
annual membership tea on Monday, May 11 at 2:00 p.m. We think the tea may
be of interest to many in your congregation and we would love for them to
attend. The mission of the auxiliary has been to support and aid Kansas
Christian Home with items that make living better for the residents. Since
organizing in 1987 the auxiliary has invested over $200,000.00 in items
such as medical equipment, beds, wheelchairs, and furniture. Membership
into the KCH Auxiliary is open to anyone and the cost is just right at
$5.00. Financial help is always needed by the auxiliary but physical help
is needed as well for the annual fundraisers we hold. There are two large
fundraisers, the garage sale in May and the Holiday Bazaar in November.

EAGLE
SCOUT PROJECT “GRILL OUT”
|
The winning ticket for the Coleman grill will be
drawn on Sunday, April 29 at the end of worship. You do not have to be
present to win. Alex Marsh and his family will then host a “grill out”
following worship. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Alex has ordered the gazebo and will begin construction as soon as
the materials arrive. Lowe’s has been amazing at helping Alex with this
project. When you shop at Lowe’s be sure and let them know how much you
appreciate them helping get this project started. We are looking forward
to the finished product! We are very proud of Alex . . . reaching the
rank of Eagle Scout is a high honor.
