FROM
THE PASTOR
Psalm 119:105 says, "Your word is a lamp to my feet and
a light for my path." I believe God could speak to each of us audibly if
He chose to, but what God chose was to inspire certain ones to understand
and write what God wants us to know. God's word can become a lamp to our
feet and a light for our path when we read, understand and put into
practice what God says to us through the Bible.
May each of us joyfully participate in the Bible reading program
that is being proposed beginning the first of May. It can have enormous
value for each of us, for the church and the mission God entrusts to us.
George

CHURCH GROWTH
Ladies' Tea
Spring is finally here we hope, and with it brings beautiful
flowers and in the month of May, Mother's Day. We would like to celebrate
and remember our mothers by having a tea for all the ladies and young girls
in the church. Our guest speaker this year is Erin Boehner from Kansas
Christian Home.
If you are able to attend on the 4th, please sign the sheet of
paper on the table at the back of the sanctuary. Please include your name
and the number of family and/or guests that will be coming with you.
Remember! All ladies and girls are welcome
Cookies for a Cause
Our Cookies for a Cause for April is Church World Services, Tools and
Blankets program. If you didn't get an opportunity to make a donation to
this program, you may still do so next Sunday. When filling out your
check, please make it out to Church World Services and in the memo at the
bottom, indicate your envelope number and that it is for the Tools and
Blankets program. You may place it in the offering tray. Thank you for
your support.
Un-Finished Objects
This coming Friday night at 7:00 is our UFO night here at church. If
you have a craft that you are working on, bring it to church and work on it
here. Some of us bring our sewing machines to work on quilts and other
items, while others bring scrapbooking items or work on cards. Once again,
if you have a craft that you need to finish, bring it Friday night with a
snack and enjoy lots of fun and Christian Fellowship. See you then!!!

CHOIR
Choir Special Sunday, April 27
Maybe some of you remember how the choir got decked out in Western
garb for a special last year. We have "warmed up the music" for another
presentation for you. Overalls, cowboy hats, jeans and boots are the
attire for the morning. You can join us in this dress, but we'll expect
you to clap and smile along with us as we sing, "Out Of His Great Love".

TO
ALL HAYSVILLE AREA CHURCHES
We would like to take this opportunity to remind
everyone that Haysville Community Outreach maintains a food pantry at West
Haysville Baptist Church. Every thirty days residents of the Haysville
School District can come in for a box of food. They need to bring proof of
residency - a current driver's license or a recent utility bill - showing
their address. Currently we are assisting about twenty families each
month.
Also, the Haysville Ministerial Alliance provides funds each
month to cover milk and bread vouchers for the first ten food box
recipients.
There are no income guidelines or restrictions for receiving a
food box or voucher. So if you know of anyone having a hard time making
ends meet please let them know about this community service. We're here to
help! They can come by Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to noon.
Unfortunately, we have neither gas vouchers nor cash available.
We have no funds to cover utility bills.
For needs other than food you may direct folks to the United Way.
All they have to do is call 211 to access more than 200 programs.
In Service to Our Lord, West Haysville Baptist Church
Note: Beverly McCormick is the representative from our church to
Haysville Community Outreach.
