FROM THE PASTOR
I am titling next Sunday's sermon, THE ROLE OF
FAITH. Last Sunday we focused on the reality that all of us, during our
earthly journey, are faced with numerous challenges and temptations. Many
of them are unavoidable. One thing in our favor, however, is that God has
given us the ability to choose how we will respond to many of this life
situations. Also, God has given assurance to those who trust in Him by
these words in Scripture: "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake
you" (Hebrews 13; 5; also Deuteronomy 31:6). The Deuteronomy passage also
says, "Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged" (31:8).
Be thinking of the important role that believing in a God who
loves us and longs to be with us can be.
George

THANK YOU
Thank you for your prayers for Tony Brocato. He
received a "good progress" result from his CAT scan last week!
Thanks to Ted Clubb for trimming the evergreen spreaders under the
trees in the parking lot.
Thank you for every prayer, phone call, get well card and hospital
visit for my husband while he was in the hospital this past week. He is
home now and doing just fine. The intense pain he was having turned out to
be from a stint that was put in years and years ago. The stint was removed
and he hasn’t had that pain since. How comforting to know God was with us
every step of the way. HE is the great physician. Praise the Lord.

CHURCH GROWTH
Church Growth would like to ask for volunteers to
greet people at the front door as they come to Sunday School and/or church.
If you feel comfortable in shaking a hand and welcoming people, then you
are the person or couple we're looking for. There are papers on the table
at the back of the sanctuary; please sign up for a month. This is also a
good way to get to know the folks in our congregation.
UFO-Craft Night
This Friday night is UFO or Craft Night. Some ladies are working on
quilts; others are scrap booking or making cards. Come join us with your
craft and enjoy the fellowship of other women in the church. The doors

Greetings from your Stewardship Committee
The second quarter Bible reading lists are out now and cover the
period August 3 thru October 31. If you are signed up for one of the Bible
Reading programs, then an envelope with your name on it is available at the
back of the sanctuary. Inside you will find the next quarter reading list.
If you haven't signed up but want to join in, please do. There are extra
Whole Bible and New Testament reading lists available--also at the back of
the sanctuary. If you need yours mailed to you, let Dee or me know.
If you began but got behind, please just start afresh with us
today. Be sure to write down the number of chapters you have read in our
red friendship pads when you attend church... and watch our thermometer
