FROM THE PASTOR

An important event that is coming up November 10 and 11 is "Road To Freedom." On that Monday and Tuesday a program led by Tom Brevard and his son, Randy, will be presented in several Haysville schools. Tom is a licensed minister and has a passion for helping middle and high school youth to stay away from alcohol and drugs. They also have permission from the state of Kansas to go into correctional facilities and encourage persons to stay free from drugs and alcohol when they are released.

The Haysville Ministerial Association is co-operating with Tom to provide volunteer help for his programs/assemblies here on November 10 and 11. Sign up sheets were available Sunday and will be this coming Sunday indicating the opportunities to help. On September 29, at 7:00 p.m., a meeting for volunteers will be held at the First Assembly of God gym, 1100 East Grand. This will be an opportunity to get more details.

THANK YOU

The KCH auxiliary wishes to express its thanks to your church for its support of the home during these many years.
The time for the Bazaar is fast approaching. The money raised from each of these functions will be used to provide things for the residents which would enhance their quality of life, but are not required.

The Bazaar will be held at the Christian Church in Newton, October 31 and November 1, 2008. You may bring or send your items to the Development Office for the Bazaar. If you are in the SC District, call the Development Office to arrange a pick up. If money donations are sent for the auxiliary, please send to:

Bertha Linen, Treasurer of the KCH Auxiliary,
403 Bender Lane,
Newton, KS 67114.

Your support of the home is greatly appreciated and the auxiliary thanks you for all you do. Your generosity helps us live up to our motto "What we do is care."

Thanks so much, Von Dell Glaser, Secretary KCH Auxiliary

Thanks to everyone who donated to help Dan Atkeson with the 2008 Heart of America Police and Fire Games this past weekend. Dale Atkeson

If you aren't familiar with these games go to www.kpfaa.net and watch the promotional video.

CHURCH GROWTH

All Church Dinner

Next Sunday, September 28 we will celebrate the 128th birthday of our church. Following the church service, we will join together in fellowship and eat a carry-in dinner.
Each family will need to bring a main dish, a side dish and/or a dessert. Drinks and table service will be provided. We will also be serving a birthday cake. Bring your food to the kitchen and the church growth ladies will take care of it for you. After lunch we would appreciate any help you can give with clean-up. Thanks

Un-Finished Objects

This coming Friday night at 7:00 is our UFO night here at church. If you have a craft that you are working on, bring it to church and work on it here. Some of us bring our sewing machines to work on quilts or other items, while others bring scrap-booking items or work on cards. Once again, if you have a craft that you need to finish, bring it Friday night with a snack and enjoy lots of fun and Christian fellowship. See you then!!!
