FROM THE PASTOR

Do we ever get tired of Christmas? I hope not. Sure, the commercializing is aggravating and misses the real point of Christmas, but that need not rob us of the beauty and meaning of Christmas.

Was Jesus born on December 25? No one knows the date for sure. What we do know from Scripture, and by faith, is that JESUS WAS BORN! This was the fulfillment of prophecy long before, and was the beginning of God’s initiative to give the believing world a Deliverer. The angel’s message to those shepherds outside of Bethlehem was this, “I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:10-11).

So, let’s enjoy and celebrate the beauty and meaning of Christmas. Let us claim and proclaim Jesus as the Savior and Lord. He has brought light into a world of darkness. Thank you, God!

The Men and Women Serving Our Country

THANK YOU

Dear Friends at Haysville,
Thank you for inviting us to “take over” your service Sunday, November 9. I trust God was at work helping us all reflect on the precious gift of His Word.

We also thank you for your love offering of over $300.00 at a time when our finances are low—what an added blessing.
Please thank the “angels” who made our stay affordable by supplying our hotel room and BBQ meal after church.
Hopefully we’ll see you more often in the future and will be praying for God to supply a new pastor who loves the Bible as all of you do. With thankful hearts, Swanson family

Thank you to David Walker, Jim Holmes, Teresa Butler, Janice Church, Merrill and Dee Deck, Lenora Heath, George and Anita Lespagnard, for helping decorate the church for the Christmas Season.

I want to thank my church family for all you’ve done. The prayers, meals, and even helping me keeping my house clean. My heart swells with love for all of you. Love, Shea Reust

Thank you so much for your prayers for Tony Brocato. Praise the Lord that test results show progress being made in his battle against cancer! Continued prayers are appreciated. Marsha Devan

The sister of Steve and Blossom’s friend trapped by the forest fire around San Bernadino sent a phone message that the winds had changed at the last minute and blew the fire away from her and her home. Praise to the power of prayer—they firmly believe that the prayers changed the wind. Scott Sturm

REMINDER: Sunday, December 7 at 10:15 a.m. we will celebrate December birthdays and anniversaries.

CHURCH GROWTH

Thanksgiving Dinner
What a glorious day we had on Sunday the 23rd. It could not have been as successful as it was without the help of so many people. We had men and women setting up and doing food prep work on the 17th. Special thanks go out to the people who cooked the turkeys, baked the pies and brought the salads and vegetable trays. I hope everyone enjoyed all the food and fellowship on Sunday. The most important helpers were the ladies and men who put together the rest of the meal and got it on the tables and ready to eat after Church. Thanks to all the people who helped put away tables and chairs, vacuumed and cleaned up the kitchen after the meal. This is such a wonderful, giving church. Thank you all for everything you did.
